There were 4,208,706 tons of cargo loaded and unloaded at the Ports of Paranagu\u00e1 and Antonina. The segment moved 2,475,456 tons, 2% more than last year\u201d, he adds.<\/p>\n<p>Among liquid bulk, the increase was 12% in the comparison between January 2022 and 2023. This year, there were 722,073 tons. Last year, 644,939.<\/p>\n<p>In the general cargo segment, which represents the loads that are shipped per unit, 1,011,177 tons were handled. The volume is 7% lower than the 1,088,747 tons registered in January 2022. The drop was mainly impacted by the reduction in the volumes of sugar in sacks and cellulose, in the export sense.<\/p>\n<p>Vehicle movements are up by 395%. This year, 8,095 units were loaded and unloaded through the Port of Paranagu\u00e1, compared to 1,634 units in the first month of last year. Of the total for 2023, 6,975 vehicles were exported and 1,120 imported.<\/p>\n<p>Containers, on the other hand, did not move differently from last year. There were 88,038 TEUs handled \u2013 47,561 TEUs for export and another 40,477 TEUs for import.<\/p>\n<p><strong>EXPORTS FROM PARAN\u00c1<\/strong> \u2013 Exports from Paran\u00e1 grew 6.1% in January 2023, according to a survey by the Paran\u00e1 Institute of Economic and Social Development (Ipardes), based on data from the federal government.
