During an interview with CNN,<\/span> <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">M\u00e1rcio de Lima Leite, the association&#8217;s president, voiced concerns over declining export figures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The proposal includes regulatory measures designed to reduce Brazil&#8217;s high operational costs, known as the <\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Custo Brasil<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, and to support bilateral trade agreements with countries that import Brazilian vehicles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&#8220;Brazil needs to progress in regulatory harmonization. Bilateral agreements with export destinations are essential. We need attention because the Brazilian industry is losing ground in these markets,&#8221;<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Lima Leite told CNN.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Exports Declining Amid Growing Imports<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Anfavea&#8217;s 2024 report, presented in S\u00e3o Paulo, highlighted a significant shift: for the first time since 2014, vehicle imports (463,000 units) surpassed exports (403,000 units).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In Brazil, Automakers exports are becoming increasingly concentrated in <a href=\"https:\/\/datamarnews.com\/noticias\/will-china-turn-to-argentina-to-fill-its-agricultural-import-gap\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Argentina<\/strong><\/a>, which now accounts for 39% of all exports \u2014 a worrying trend for the industry. In 2017, exports peaked at 766,000 units.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Plan in Development<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Anfavea is currently conducting a study to map potential measures to revitalize export growth.
