Brazil exported 1.876 million tonnes of soybeans in January 2026, a 75.5% increase from the volume shipped in the same month of 2025, when exports totaled 1.069 million tonnes. Revenue from overseas sales of the grain reached $830.984 million, up 91.7% from the $433.559 million recorded in January last year.<\/p>\n
The data were released by the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC) and reflect 21 working days in January 2026, compared with 22 working days in January 2025.<\/p>\n
On a daily average basis, soybean shipments reached 89,357 tonnes in January this year, well above the 48,598 tonnes per working day recorded in the same period of 2025. In value terms, average daily exports totaled $39.571 million, more than double the $19.707 million seen a year earlier.<\/p>\n
The average price of exported soybeans stood at $442.80 per tonne in January, an increase of 9.2% from the $405.50 recorded in January 2025.<\/p>\n
MDIC director Herlon Brand\u00e3o said the rise in soybean exports in January is linked to the flow of last year\u2019s harvest. \u201cLast year\u2019s soybean crop was later \u2014 it was planted, harvested and shipped later in the year,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Despite the record harvest, soybean sales were weaker in the first half of 2025, with significant volumes sold only in the second half. \u201cIt is very likely that this strong January performance still reflects the tail end of shipments from last year\u2019s record crop,\u201d Brand\u00e3o added.<\/p>\n
