Bangladesh on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, received its first shipment of Brazilian green coffee beans, marking a new step in bilateral agrifood trade.<\/p>\n
The arrival was accompanied by Brazil\u2019s agricultural attach\u00e9 in Dhaka, Silvio Testasecca, and was handled by North End Coffee Roasters, a company that currently operates 15 coffee shops across Bangladesh and runs a production, distribution and training center in the capital.<\/p>\n
Instant coffee remains the most widely consumed product in the country. With the entry and broader availability of Brazilian green coffee, consumption is expected to increase, as the tariff applied is the same as that levied on shipments from Singapore \u2014 the source of roughly 70% of Bangladesh\u2019s coffee imports to date.<\/p>\n
Bangladesh\u2019s coffee shop sector includes global chains and local brands such as Gloria Jean\u2019s, Crimson Cup, Barcode Caf\u00e9, Columbus Coffee Shop, Barista, Coffee World and Caf\u00e9 S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n
Over the past year, Bangladesh imported more than $2.7 billion in Brazilian agrifood products, with shipments led by the sugar and ethanol complex, soybeans, grains, and corn-based flours and preparations.<\/p>\n
