Construction work on the Transnordestina Railway is progressing in the state of Cear\u00e1 and is nearing the Port of Pec\u00e9m, one of the main logistics hubs in Brazil\u2019s Northeast, which has awaited this connection for years. Last week, technicians from the Railway Infrastructure Superintendence (SUFER), a division of the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT), were in the field to closely monitor progress on strategic sections of the railway.<\/p>\n
The technical inspection took place on lots 5 and 6, between the municipalities of Senador Pompeu and Quixeramobim, sections scheduled for completion in the first half of 2026. The team also inspected works on lot 11, already at the approach to the Pec\u00e9m port complex. This area presents significant technical challenges, particularly in integrating the railway with port terminals and other facilities in the complex.<\/p>\n
Since authorizing, in 2025, the start of rail transport under a commissioning regime on part of the Transnordestina, ANTT has maintained continuous technical oversight of the sections under construction. The agency\u2019s role includes inspection, technical assessment, and safety monitoring.<\/p>\n
