U.S. President Donald Trump<\/span><\/span> said on Tuesday that the United States will not help reopen the Strait of Hormuz, adding that affected countries should either buy fuel from the U.S. or \u201cfight for themselves\u201d to restore maritime traffic through the waterway.<\/p>\n

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social<\/span><\/span>, Trump outlined two options \u201cfor all countries unable to secure aviation fuel due to disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, such as the United Kingdom, which refused to take part in actions against Iran.\u201d<\/p>\n

First, he said these countries could purchase aviation fuel from the United States. \u201cWe have plenty,\u201d he wrote. Alternatively, he suggested that they take control of the strait themselves, without U.S. support, arguing that those nations \u201cwere not there to help us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShow courage, go to the strait and simply TAKE it. You will have to learn to fight for yourselves. The U.S. will no longer be there to help you, just as you were not there to help us,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

He also stated that Iran \u201chas essentially been decimated\u201d and that \u201cthe hard part is over,\u201d urging countries to secure their own oil supplies.<\/p>\n
