This week Maersk announced the restructuring of its services to Asia, with the addition of a weekly service operated exclusively by the Maersk group. The new service includes 13 vessels, 10 operated by Maersk, and 3 by Hamburg Sud – until now it has been operating with 10. The capacity offered by the group will therefore increase from 104,250 TEUs to 116,100, signifying an 11.4% increase.<\/p>\n
Called ASIA 1, the first call will take place in the third week of December at the port of Busan by the \u2018San Fernando\u2019, expected to arrive in Buenos Aires on January 29.<\/p>\n
Also taking part in the service will be ONE, Hapag-Lloyd and ZIM, which will operate via slot purchases.<\/p>\n
The new service will call at the following ports:<\/p>\n
Busan – Shanghai – Ningbo – Shekou – Singapore – Sepetiba – Santos – Itapoa – Itajai – Buenos Aires – Montevideo – Itajai – Paranagua – Santos – Singapore – Hong Kong – Busan.<\/p>\n
At Santos, the new service will call at the Santos Brasil terminal. In Buenos Aires it will be APM\u2019s Terminal 4, and in Montevideo the Cuenca Del Plata Terminal, operated by Belgian firm Katoen Natie.<\/p>\n
